The Pamporovo ski resort is situated 1650 m above sea level, at the foot of peak SNEJANKA (1926 m), in the Rhodopes Mountain. It is located in a region for its unique folklore traditions with in 260 km of Sofia and 85 km of Bulgaria’s second-largest city, Plovdiv.

Pamporovo is the sunniest winter resort in Bulgaria there the winter is soft, but with a lot of snow, and the number of the sunny days during the season from December to May comes up to 120 days.

The resort is set in the south of the Rhodope Mountain where, according to the legend, Orpheus, the mythical singer, had lived. Pamporovo is a perfect ski resort for beginners, there are very good ski schools, plenty of easy slopes and a well run lift system. Intermediate skiers will find Pamporovo a good ski resort to improve their skiing, there is 25kms of piste, many being pretty tree lined runs and the area is linked by a free shuttle bus service. Advanced skiers in Pamporovo should experience The Wall – a steep mogul field and there is also a Giant Slalom run. Pamporovo is a great resort in which to learn snowboarding.

During the summer months the area is refreshing, tranquil, and relaxing. It is a great place to see the wilderness and enjoy nature. The area has many good starting points for hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding around the region. Trails that cross the main ridges in southern Bulgaria, Mt.
